We’re looking for Summer Interns!

Geographic Services, Inc. located in Mclean, Virginia is offering a great summer internship opportunity for recent graduates and/or current undergraduate students as a GIS Analyst to perform GIS analysis and production work. Work will consist of imagery analysis, feature extraction, socio-cultural data analysis, GIS database development and cartographic production. The analyst will work closely with cultural analysts and our linguist team in addition to our GIS team. Interns will also support our software development team as needed.

Qualified applicants must currently be enrolled in an academic program at an accredited college or university, and pursuing bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related, while actively taking GIS courses.

Qualifications include:

  • Proficient in ArcMap and ArcCatalog
  • Familiar with shapefiles and geodatabases
  • Familiar with editing tools
  • Ability to read maps & imagery
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dependable
  • Flexible attitude
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 is required
  • US Citizenship is required

Geographic Services, Inc. offers a paid internship program and work hours are flexible within the regular office hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Interns must be available to work for a minimum of 2 months following the end of school year.
