The GS Process
Planning
The initial planning process is based on extensive experience with geographic names analysis for NGA and ensures that all cost, time and quality commitments are met. This experience also allows Geographic Services’ Project Managers to assist customers in determining the scope of work required by the contract or task order. Managers will implement any adjustments to procedures quickly and efficiently according to modifications in contracts while maintaining the quality and timeliness of services.
Source Materials
Geographic Services ensures the quality and contractual compliance of all source material before beginning any project. GS’s staff inventories all government or contractor furnished source materials at the corporate headquarters before distributing these materials to research analysts. All furnished materials will be stored, handled and returned to the client according to established procedures.
Analysis
Geographic Services carefully follows the procedures outlined in the Project Specific Guidance (PSG) according to:
- Reference Source Hierarchy
- Toponymic Analysis Guidance
- Geographic Names Data Requirements
- Romanization System
Customer Satisfaction
All Geographic Services’ GeoNames analyses follow the PSG and are subject to rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) review. GS ensures complete customer satisfaction.
